I
first met Steve Kuykendall in January, 2000, when he was the manager
of American Music in Fresno, CA. I walked into the store to do
a demo of our pedals and there was Steve, already set up with a
Route 66, Marshall amp, and a small PA with a CD player. He ended
up giving ME a demo! Steve proceeded to put on some Santana backing
tracks and absolutely blew me away with his incredibly tasteful
and blazingly hot style of playing. It's no wonder he's won every
California guitar competition he's ever been in! And the tone through
the Route 66 pedal into the Marshall's clean channel was amazing...
and I've always been partial to Fenders!
Well, now it's your chance to hear Steve. Click on any of the
following links to download an mp3 file of songs that Steve recorded
direct using Route 66 American Overdrive. In his own words, "Think of
it... even with NO amp!! NO Tubes!!! You can go STRAIGHT to PA Console
or Multi-Trak!! It's the best sounding, most versatile PRE-AMP I've EVER
used!!! So... can you imagine how INCREDIBLY AWESOME it sounds thru my
Marshall?!" (taken
from a note Steve sent with his CD)
