In a world dominated by men, this 22 year-old phenom from "Down Under" is rockin' the bass world and taking it by storm. And oh yeah, can you say, this phenom is a WOMAN? Not since the days of Carol Kaye has such an incredibly talented young woman stood so tall in the world of Fusion and Funk as Tal Wilkenfeld. She plays like she's been playing for 30 years... poise, finesse, chops, and to top it all off... soul! Tal is a prodigy! Why? Because Tal has only been playing bass for 4 years! That's right, 4 years! She tours with guitar legend Jeff Beck and has graced the stage with other legends such as Chick Corea and Hiram Bullock. If that's not enough, Tal has just released her debut CD, "Transformation". On it she writes, arranges, and produces, as well as plays bass.
Though she doesn't use many pedals, Tal has recently discovered the Visual Volume pedal. Along with fellow players Victor Wooten and Michael Rhodes, the Visual Volume is becoming "the choice" among some of the world's premier bassists. Visual Sound loves to acknowledge great talent, and Tal Wilkenfeld is one whose time has come!
