Rick Derringer

A long train runnin' would best describe the illustrious and highly influential career of one of America's greatest talents, Rick Derringer. From his first hit song ('Hang On Sloopy') with his first band (The McCoys) back in 1965 to the legendary and timeless hit, 'Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo', that he wrote by himself and was first recorded by the great Johnny Winter on the And record which Rick also produced, Rick Derringer has indelibly left his signature on American Rock music around the world. Not only has Rick been known as the legendary guitar player he is, but he has done work behind the scenes that most have never heard of. He produced and won GRAMMY's for his production of the Weird Al Yankovic records. In addition, he produced the Johnny and Edgar Winter albums, as well as played guitar on all the Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper, and Todd Rundgren records, just to name a few. Besides all the outside work, Rick has recorded some 30 records as a solo artist, as well. Visual Sound is blessed and honored to be a small part of the huge career of Rick Derringer!
